About the Artist — Amanda Strobel
Mandy Strobel was raised in Port Washington, New York and is now a Boston based mixed media illustrator and live painter who specializes in contemporary art making. She is a recent graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design. After receiving her BFA is Illustration, she went on to show her work at two consecutive gallery shows in Watertown, Massachusetts at the TILL Wave Art Gallery. She currently owns and operates her own live painting business called “art skips a beat” in which she delivers an unforgettable and unique experience to encapsulate the magic and beauty of your next event.
Mandy fell in love with painting where she grew up. She was endlessly inspired by the vibrant sunsets on Lighthouse Road, the endless green in the Sands Point Preserve, and the spectacularly strong arts program at her public schools. Mandy’s work mixes and melds the color and glamour of 3D and 2D media into digital paintings with lots of sparkle. The glitter and saturation is used as a lens for the painful experiences being communicated in her work.
