Robert Klee, a lecturer at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and former Commissioner of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will open the Summit. Klee’s address “Searching for a new deal on climate? Look to the states.” will cover our timeline for reversing the effects of climate change and the concept of scaling up tools that have been regionally successful.

Clean Green Main Street

Yes, spring is finally here! And with it comes spring cleaning to welcome plants that are waking up from their winter hibernation. Residents Forward invites the entire community to join us on Saturday, April 17th at 9:00 a.m. for Clean Green Main Street. This annual cleanup is perfect for families, individuals, teens, teams, troops and students. Meet up location TBD. Volunteers should just come wearing work clothes, a mask, a hat and sunscreen. Climate Awareness Garden After School Program

For students grades 1-12, this is an outdoors, hands-on environmental program Mondays at 4-5pm, begins October 4 for 10 weeks (weather permitting) Location: Climate Awareness Garden @ Schreiber Through gardening and other outdoor activities, elementary students will grow vegetables, address climate change and protect the environment, develop confidence and independence, and much more. Middle and High School students will participate in the garden program and be trained as mentors to the elementary students.
